Surrender Your Heart to God

Listened to Rick Warren’s devotional this morning. Another great devotional.

3 choices I need to make everyday to transform my relationship with others

Surrender everyday to Jesus

Remember the way God loves me – (don’t feel loved can’t be loving)

  • I am completely accepted
  • I am unconditionally loved
  • I am totally forgiven
  • I am extremely valuable to God

Offer love to others (everyone) the same way God loves us.
You can’t grow spiritually in isolation by Rick Warren
Job 11:13-20 (CEV)
Surrender Your Heart to God

13 Surrender your heart to God,
    turn to him in prayer,

14 and give up your sins—

even those you do in secret.

15 Then you won’t be ashamed;

you will be confident

    and fearless.

16 Your troubles will go away

    like water beneath a bridge,

17 and your darkest night

    will be brighter than noon.

18 You will rest safe and secure,

filled with hope

    and emptied of worry.

19 You will sleep without fear

    and be greatly respected.

20 But those who are evil

will go blind and lose their way.

    Their only escape is death!

About GettingCloserToOurGod

This blog is written by Todd Christenson. He was raised in Nebraska and currently lives on Long Island in New York. Though out my childhood, my family attended church. We prayed together at meals. I thought I was prepared for life. After college, I moved to New York City. Shy, unsure of myself, building an identity in worldly things, increasingly prideful, self-righteousness, a controlling nature. In 2013, God spoke through someone, suggesting I confess my sins. I did. I realized that every day, I’d been glorifying myself, not God. Today, God’s teaching me to have my identity in Him, only, my dependency in Him, not myself, being who He wants me to be, not the world, loving Him first, loving others as myself.
