In my post yesterday I spoke of confession, today I focus on forgiveness. This is a link to a huge number of verses. Here are several verses that gave me great comfort and direction today as I thank God for forgiveness, pray that I can be forgiven by others and I forgive.
25 “I, even I, am he who blots out
your transgressions, for my own sake,
and remembers your sins no more.
26 Review the past for me,
let us argue the matter together;
state the case for your innocence.
19 Repent, then, and turn to God, so that your sins may be wiped out, that times of refreshing may come from the Lord,
17 Then he adds:
“Their sins and lawless acts
I will remember no more.”[a]
9 “This, then, is how you should pray:
“‘Our Father in heaven,
hallowed be your name,
10 your kingdom come,
your will be done,
on earth as it is in heaven.
11 Give us today our daily bread.
12 And forgive us our debts,
as we also have forgiven our debtors.
13 And lead us not into temptation,[a]
but deliver us from the evil one.[b]’
14 For if you forgive other people when they sin against you, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. 15 But if you do not forgive others their sins, your Father will not forgive your sins.
