When life is troubled, confession is a good way to go. A friend emailed me these verse earlier this week.
James 5:16
Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective.
Leviticus 5:5
When one becomes aware that they are guilty in any of these matters, they must confess in what way they have sinned.
1John 1:19
If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.
Proverbs 28:13
Whoever conceals their sins does not prosper, but the one who confesses and renounces them finds mercy.
These verses remind of the testimonies of some people I watched be baptized this last summer. Confessing helped them “come clean,” help keep them accountable, and be saved.
My prayer today is that when I meet with my pastor, I’m open and honest, I’m thankful God forgives “our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.”
